FAQ

Charter schools are unique public schools.  They are allowed more freedom to be innovative, while still being held accountable for advancing student achievement.  As a public school, charters are:

  • Open to all children
  • Free of tuition
  • Aligned with Common Core State Standards

In Michigan, charters are granted through state universities, junior colleges, intermediate, or local school boards.  Conner Creek Academy East received its charter from in 1999 from Ferris State University, located in Big Rapids, Michigan.

The education is free. Just like traditional public schools, we received our funding from the state on Just like traditional public schools, we received our funding from the state on Just like traditional public schools, we received our funding from the state on a per pupil basis.
